Why I do this work.
I've spent the last several years working in private and corporate accounting — reconciliations, financial reporting, month-end close, the parts of a business most people never see but every business depends on.
Along the way, I noticed the same thing over and over: small business owners are brilliant at what they do, and completely overwhelmed by the bookkeeping side of it. Not because it's actually that complicated — but because no one ever explained it to them in plain English.
That's the whole reason Adriatic Ledger exists. I wanted to build a bookkeeping practice that feels less like a black box and more like a partner — one that keeps your records accurate, explains what's actually happening in your business, and is genuinely there when you have a question.
